Defoe has a smile on his face again

Jermain Defoe - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Jermain Defoe seems to have a smile back on his face and believes that the current Spurs squad is capable of achieving anything.

JD came back into the Spurs side for the trip to West Brom on Saturday, after Rafael van der Vaart was ruled out with a hamstring injury.  Defoe in recent matches had found himself mostly on the bench due to the form of VDV and Emmanuel Adebayor.

Defoe helped fire Spurs to another win to continue our unbeaten run to 10 games.  The striker took his 81st minute goal superbly to put Spurs back in front – a powerdul strike from the edge of the Albion box which left Ben Foster helpless.

Harry now has a selection headache of his own.  Does he recall Van der Vaart for the visit of Bolton on Saturday, or does he keep faith with Defoe?  What would you do if you were in Harry’s shoes?

JD said after the game: “I think this is the best group of players I’ve been involved with. The squad is unbelievable.

“We’ve got two great teams in effect we can put out to be honest and it is a great time to be at the club.

“I just think the sky’s the limit for Tottenham really.”

It was Defoe’s first start for nearly two months – he deserves to start again this weekend.
