Dejan Kulusevski was present at the recent launch of the FC Futures initiative, and he was asked to name the most exciting young talent at Tottenham Hotspur. It may come as a surprise to very few people that the Swedish star picked Pape Matar Sarr.

Tottenham currently have the fourth youngest team in the Premier League (The Analyst), and Ange Postecoglou‘s men are proving that age is just a number as they sit at the top of the table after ten games, with a two-point lead over their nearest rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

Dejan Kulusevski is only 23 years old himself, but now comes across as one of the more experienced players in the side. The Swede has bounced back from a difficult season last term and looks to be back to his best now.

Who is Tottenham’s star of the future?

He is surrounded by fantastic talent, for both club and country, but when asked to pick a star of the future from Tottenham Hotspur, Kulusevski praised his teammate Pape Sarr.

He told the media at the launch of FC Futures (as relayed by Ben Jacobs): “At Spurs, we have… we are all so young, we are a very young team. But, if I had to pick one guy, I would say Pape Sarr, who is already playing but is an unbelievable talent.”

Sarr has broken into the Spurs first team this year after being given an opportunity by Postecoglou to start the game against Manchester United, and he hasn’t looked back since that big performance, which also saw him score his first goal for the club.

We always knew Pape Sarr was going to be a top talent, and he just needed to be given that chance to show what he can do. Conte never really gave him that, but Postecoglou has put a lot of faith in the young midfielder, and it’s paid off.
