Dejan Kulusevski is having a brilliant season for Tottenham Hotspur, and he’s now one of the leading performers in the Premier League when it comes to one important metric.

Dejan Kulusevski is in the form of his life

Since the start of the new season, Dejan Kulusevski has taken his game to the next level, and it’s largely thanks to the Swedish star making the move to a more central position rather than playing out wide.

The 24-year-old now has two goals and five assists to his name already this term (Transfermarkt), and with the way he is playing, he looks set to record his best goal contribution returns since joining Tottenham.

When he was used on the right wing, Kulusevski had a tendancy to become quite predictable, especially when cutting inside onto his favoured left foot.

Now, operating in more of a number 8 and 10 hybrid role, Kulusevski has been given the freedom to make things happen in various areas of the pitch, and is now Ange Postecoglou’s key creator in attacking scenarios.

Kulusevski creating more chances than anyone in Premier League

His link-up play with the likes of Brennan Johnson, and in particular Dominic Solanke, has been a joy to watch this season, but Kulusevski is more than just pleasing to the eye; he is making a real difference on the pitch, and statistics prove just how influential he has been.

According to data from StatMuse FC on X, Kulusevski has created 30 chances throughout the Premier League season, which puts him at the top of the pile for that statistic.

The only player to match him is Fulham’s Andreas Pereira, but with the impressive form the Cottagers have exhibited this season, that should come as no surprise.

This season could be really special for the Swede

With the rate he is going right now, there is no doubt that Kulusevski will achieve his best tally for Spurs. So far, he’s only managed single-figure returns in both goals and assists, but I can easily see him breaking double figures, especially when it comes to assists.
