Dele Alli congratulates team-mate on social media after Spurs thrash Wolfsberger

Dele Alli has taken to social media to congratulate Gareth Bale on his goal after Tottenham brushed Wolfsberger aside, beating them 4-0 in the second leg and 8-1 on aggregate.

Dele was undoubtedly the star of the show yesterday after the midfielder scored one of Tottenham’s goals of the season with a brilliantly improvised overhead kick in the first-half.

The 24-year-old also set up Tottenham’s second and third goals with two intricate passes, picking out Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale to find the back of the net.

Jose Mourinho lavished praise on the midfielder for his all-round display and admitted that he was delighted to see him getting back to his best in a busy period of the season.

Dele will be hoping that he has played himself into contention for the Premier League clash against Burnley on Sunday, while Bale will also feel he is deserving of a start after he followed up his fantastic second-half performance against West Ham with a brilliant finish against the Austrian side after coming off the bench.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the 4-0 win was to see how delighted the players were for Alli for his performance. It is clear to see that spirits are still high within the squad despite the poor run of form over recent months.
