Dele Alli reveals he misses player who departed Tottenham in the summer

Dele Alli has revealed on Instagram that he misses his former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Serge Aurier.

The Ivorian defender, who has since joined La Liga outfit Villarreal, departed Spurs in the summer after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the club.

The right-back tallied 110 appearances in four years at Spurs, yielding eight goals and 17 assists in the process.

Aurier often struggled to nail down a consistent spot in the side with his knack for making mistakes at his own end, despite his obvious ability going forward.

However, he was typically seen as a morale-boosting character within the Spurs squad due to his energetic and uplifting personality.

Spurs midfielder Alli has revealed that he is missing Aurier’s presence at Spurs, after interacting with the defender on social media.

The 25-year-old posted a standard image on his Instagram feed, which Aurier commented on and eventually prompted the heartwarming exchange.

Aurier certainly had his ups and downs during his time at Spurs, but he appeared to be such an entertaining character from the outside looking in. The way he left Spurs wasn’t the best but, hopefully, he will be able to kick on with his new side in Spain.
