Dele Alli sends touching message to Heung-min Son after Golden Boot win

Dele Alli has taken to social media to declare that he is ‘proud’ of Son Heung-min for taking home the Golden Boot award.

Son was one goal behind Mohamed Salah heading into Tottenham’s final game of the campaign against Norwich City.

For large parts of the encounter, it looked as if it was not going to be the South Korean’s day as Tim Krul made some fantastic stops to deny the Spurs star.

However, Son had the last laugh as he first converted past the Norwich goalkeeper in the 70th minute after some lovely interplay between Harry Kane and Lucas Moura to set him up.

Five minutes later, the 29-year-old produced a typically ruthless finish from just outside the box, curling the ball into the top corner past Krul.

Son’s brace meant that he finished joint top of the goalscoring charts alongside Salah, who also found the back of the net in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Wolves.

Alli took to Instagram to congratulate his former Spurs teammate on taking home the prize. The midfielder wrote on his Instagram story: “Proud of you my brother.”

Spurs Web Opinion

The manner in which all the Spurs players were desperate for Son to win the Golden Boot yesterday, shows how great a guy the South Korean is and how much he is loved by those at the club.

Once we went 2-0 up yesterday, all the Tottenham players were looking to play-in Son at every opportunity to help him get on the scoresheet. Kulusevski even chose not to put the ball into an empty net and to roll it into Son’s path instead.
