Dele Alli takes to Instagram ahead of tie against Wolfsberger

Dele Alli appears to be in good spirits ahead of the first leg of Tottenham’s Europa League round of 32 tie against Wolfsberger this evening, with the midfielder taking to social media to post a picture with academy starlet Dane Scarlett.

There was a considerable amount of speculation regarding Alli’s future during the January transfer window, with a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain being mooted as a possibility for the midfielder.

However, the midfielder ended up staying put at the club and Jose Mourinho has since admitted that the former MK Dons man can be an important player for the side if he regains his best form.

Alli was out with a tendon injury for the past couple of weeks but did return to action for Tottenham’s trip to the Etihad on Saturday, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 loss.

The England international will hope to be involved from the start against Wolfsberger this afternoon as Spurs resume their European campaign.

Another player who will hope to get more first-team minutes under his belt is Scarlett, who has been prolific for the Under-18s this season and has been handed a couple of opportunities already by Mourinho.

Alli took to Instagram to post a picture with the young striker along with the caption: ‘With the lil bro”.

Spurs Web Opinion

I expect Mourinho to hand Alli a start this evening so that the midfielder gets an opportunity to show that he deserves more first-team opportunities. Hopefully, the 24-year-old is motivated to prove a point to the Spurs boss.
