Dele Alli has sent a touching message to Tottenham fans thanking them for their support and has insisted that the Spurs faithful will always have a special place in his heart.
Alli completed a deadline day move to Everton in a deal that would see the Toffees pay £10m to Spurs when the midfielder makes 20 appearances for the club (The Telegraph).
The 25-year-old’s departure did not come as a surprise given that he was a fair way down Antonio Conte’s pecking order.
Nevertheless, some Spurs fans are likely to have been saddened by the news, given the memories that the former MK Dons man created at the North London club.
Alli was a crucial part of the Mauricio Pochettino revolution at Tottenham, which saw the club compete for the Premier League title during the 2015/16 and 2016/17 campaigns, and reach the Champions League final in 2019.
In his parting message, the player singled out Pochettino and his backroom staff for giving him the belief and opportunity to showcase his ability, and also wished his former Spurs teammates the best for the future.
