Tottenham have already snapped up Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record fee this summer and if recent reports are to be believed they are now close to securing the services of Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso (The Sun).
The 23-year-old scored 16 goals and registered 6 assists for Betis in 46 appearances last season (according to Transfermarket.com) and is now said to be available for a fee in the region of around £45million.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s North London neighbours, Arsenal are close to wrapping up a deal to take Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan for the upcoming season (Daily Mirror).
Spurs were also linked with Ceballos earlier in the summer but the Spanish international has now supposedly made up his mind to move to the Emirates after receiving assurances of playing time from Unai Emery (AS).
Some Arsenal fans took to social media to gloat about the fact that Gunners have beaten Tottenham to both Ceballos as well as Saint Etienne defender William Saliba, who is also said to be close to a move to Arsenal (Daily Mirror).
So some Spurs fans decided to give the Arsenal fans a reality check on the difference between the business both clubs have done so far this summer.
Just seen a gooner day Ceballos > Lo Celso. This fan base never ceases to amaze me

Think I'd rather have lo Celso and Ndombele
It would have been nice to have saliba and Ceballos but they're just not on our level so they should have gone to a shitty little Europe league team called Woolwich

If an L is signing Ndombele and Lo Celso whilst you negotiate a permanent deal for Ceballos in 2020 I’m more than happy to take an L https://t.co/397snLvzxz

Ah man, Arsenal are signing Ceballos on loan for a year after he ‘rejected’ us (which he didn’t, we pulled out) so he can use them as a stepping stone to get back into the Real Madrid side.
I’m crying onto my poster which says “€60m Lo Celso, transfer record smashed again” 😩

Spurs Web Opinion
It is almost funny seeing Arsenal fans trying to get one over Spurs by claiming that they beat Tottenham to the signing of Ceballos and Saliba. If it was indeed Ceballos who chose Arsenal over Spurs and not the Lilywhites who walked away from the deal, then it is clear that the probable reason is that he will find it easier to get into the Arsenal side.
