Denmark coach makes positive claim about Eriksen’s Spurs future

Tottenham Hotspur now finally know the full extent of their squad for the first half of the domestic and European season, with pivotal Premier League and Champions League fixtures to come.

The European transfer deadline came and went on September 2 without Spurs losing their star man in Christian Eriksen.

This guarantees that the Great Dane will remain at the club until at least January, giving Spurs time to convince him to sign a new deal.

It looks as if Pochettino is willing to keep starting the playmaker too, as he made the first XI and the scoresheet against Arsenal in the North London Derby at the weekend.

With the international break now underway, Eriksen had joined up with the Danish squad, and the assistant coach has had plenty to say on the midfielder’s future.

Jon Dahl Tomasson believes that Eriksen should not be changing clubs and that Tottenham should continue to start him.

He said (BT): “It’s been written whether or not Christian should change the club. And he shouldn’t. He is such a balanced and skilled player, so they will always benefit from him. He must play at Tottenham.

“I’m certainly not nervous because you have to assume that Tottenham will play with their best players. I know the coach and Christian have a good relationship. Tottenham is an excellent club for Christian and a huge club in England”.
