Some Spurs fans are over the moon at hearing that the club are said to be in talks with Harry Kane over a new contract.
The Independent reported that Tottenham have begun initial talks with Harry Kane over a new deal amidst interest from the likes of Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.
Kane is statistically on course to having the best season of his career, having already notched up 17 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, with less than half of the season gone (Transfermarkt.com).
The report in the Independent claims that Kane is happy to stay at Spurs as long as the club is competing for silverware which the striker feels is the case under Jose Mourinho.
While talks have not yet reached a formal stage, it is said that the striker is receptive to the idea of signing a new deal at the club.
Some Spurs fans believe that the club should offer the England captain whatever he wants to get him signed up to a new contract.

Kane has just three and a half years left on his current deal. While that might seem like a lot, it also means that Spurs have to consider selling him next summer if he does not pen a new contract as his transfer value will continue to diminish beyond that point. Hopefully, the club is able to secure the striker’s future before the end of the season.
