Troy Parrott is thriving out in the Netherlands while on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam and has caught the eye of many other clubs, but a new update from Football.London suggests that the 22-year-old is keen to impress Ange Postecoglou and forge a future for himself at Tottenham Hotspur.
The young striker has been with Tottenham since 2017, but has made just four senior appearances for the club to date (Transfermarkt), having spent most of his career out on loan.
That was understandable, given he was waiting in the shadow of one Harry Kane for all those years. However, with the arrival of Ange Postecoglou last summer, Parrott would have been keen to show he was ready to mix it up in the first-team.
Parrott was robbed of that opportunity due to injury, and ended up being shipped on loan to Dutch side, Excelsior Rotterdam for the 2023/24 campaign.

Troy Parrott thriving with Excelsior
Things have gone really well for Parrott out on the continent, though, and the Irishman now has seven goals and three assists to his name in 20 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
The latest on his progress comes from Alasdair Gold, as Parrott “added yet another goal to his collection” over the weekend. His form, understandably, is “not going unnoticed,” with teams across Europe and in the Championship “monitoring his situation.”
Despite the interest, it is believed Parrott is “desperate to prove himself at Tottenham,” and remains keen to “catch Postecoglou’s attention.” If that isn’t to happen, then the report suggests the striker will be a “wanted man on the continent and at home” come the summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Parrott in the summer. Despite his strong form this season, I just can’t quite see him being given the chance at Spurs. With Richarlison on fire, Sonny irreplaceable, and youngsters like Alejo Veliz and Dane Scarlett being highly rated, I would imagine Parrott will have to move on.
