Details emerge of what Spurs could potentially earn from a future Marcus Edwards deal

Further details regarding Marcus Edwards’ departure from Tottenham Hotspur have emerged.

A news story on the official Vitoria website, the Portuguese side revealed that the midfielder has signed a four-year contract.

Most importantly, was the mention that Vitoria are only entitled to 50% of any future sale and a €15million transfer release clause has also been added to the contract.

It can only be assumed that the other 50% of a deal would land in the pocket of Tottenham considering that he was still under contract until the end of the current campaign (The Sun).

Edwards only managed one senior appearance for Spurs despite hype over his potential and was subsequently frozen out of the picture in North London (Football Insider).

The 20-year-old had been training with Championship side Brentford during pre-season but did not earn a permanent deal (Football London).

He had also been linked with a move to Italian side Udinese but will instead look to finally live up to his hype in Portugal.
