Di Marzio reveals Tottenham’s new top centre-back target – Worth £56m

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Tottenham now see Sevilla defender, Jules Kounde as their top centre-back target this summer.

Spurs struggled in the centre of defence last season, with Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld enduring sub-par campaigns.

Kounde played an impressive 49 games at the heart of Sevilla’s defence last season and even chipped in with four goals and an assist (TransferMarkt).

ABC Sevilla reported this week that Chelsea are looking at the Sevilla defender and that those in the Premier League believe his price tag is likely to be around £56m.

Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all apparently looking at the 22-year-old but the Blues are said to be the most likely candidates. It is also said that he is likely to end up in the Premier League due to the financial power associated with those clubs.

So, if Di Marzio is to be believed, it appears that Spurs may have a fight on their hands to sign their top centre-back target this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Kounde would be a top tier signing for Spurs but I can’t help but doubt whether the club have the funds to pull it off. I would expect us to go for people like Joachim Andersen instead.
