Did Alderweireld play for the badge against Liverpool?

After much speculation in the summer over a potential Tottenham exit, Alderweireld has managed to fight his way back into Pochettino’s first team.

The Belgian centre half now categorically denies having any desire to leave Spurs, and talk of a new contract is circulating according to reports.

However, there was something strange about Alderweireld on Saturday against Liverpool.

Some eagle-eyed Tottenham Hotspur fans accused Toby of not playing for the badge at Wembley, as Spurs fell to a 2-1 loss.

However, this wasn’t a reflection on the defender’s performance, as Alderweireld’s shirt was actually missing the most important feature, the Tottenham Hotspur badge.

It’s a strange oversight from the kit team at Spurs who have somehow missed that his Nike shirt was devoid of our famous cockerel.

Alderweireld was actually one of the standout performers for Spurs, putting in a solid defensive showing, rarely gifting possession, or putting a foot wrong.

Toby was also one of the only players to acknowledge the defeat on social media, addressing his disappointment to the fans.
