Memphis Depay has praised Steven Bergwijn on Instagram after the Tottenham winger produced an excellent performance to help the Netherlands qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
The Spurs and Barcelona forwards both tallied in the crucial 2-0 win over Norway in Rotterdam, which saw them end as winners in Group B and reach the tournament proper for the first time since 2014.
Both goals came late in the encounter though, with Bergwijn initially breaking the deadlock by lashing home a thumping effort on 84 minutes.
He then set up the crucial insurance goal for Depay in stoppage-time to all but secure the win and qualification for the Dutch.
Depay has since reacted to the 24-year-old’s stellar showing on Tuesday evening, by commenting that he ‘did it big time’ beneath one of the winger’s recent social media posts.

Bergwijn put in a big performance for the Netherlands on Tuesday when his country needed and demonstrated exactly what he is capable of doing.
He has lacked a lot of confidence for Spurs and, hopefully, he can ride on that performance back into club action.
