Dier expects tough Panama test

Eric Dier says the Three Lions are not anticipating an easy three points against World Cup debutants Panama on Sunday.

England left it late to beat Tunisia in the group opener courtesy of a last-gasp Harry Kane winner and the Dier is not writing Panama off

The Panamanians, who held Belgium for 45 minutes before eventually losing 3-0, are England’s next opponents and they are not to be underestimated according to Dier.

He told talkSPORT: “Belgium had a tough time in the first half, whether that’s down to them or down to Panama. The first half looked very tough. Second half they came out and managed to get the win quite comfortably. But by no means does that make me or any of us as a team think that game’s going to be easy.

Panama frustrated the superstars of Belgium in their first-ever World Cup game before a Dries Mertens screamer broke their resistance.
They are ranked 55th in the world and England could qualify for the last 16 by beating them on Sunday.
