Some Tottenham fans were in disbelief at what they saw from Tanguy Ndombele against Chelsea on Sunday evening.
Ndombele had a tough task up against one of the best pivots in the world in N’Golo Kante, as well as the energetic and pacy Mateo Kovacic.
With Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko protecting the back four and not venturing too far forward, most of the creative burden fell on Ndombele’s shoulders and the former Lyon man certainly delivered in the first half.
He produced a few sublime moments where he breezed past the Chelsea midfield, showing his agility, close control and strength on the ball.
As has become the custom, he was withdrawn just past the hour mark, with Giovani Lo Celso coming on to replace him.
Ndombele was voted the Man of the Match for his display at Stamford Bridge and some Spurs fans were in awe of some of the things the midfielder pulled off during the match.
Ndombele was on a different level in that first half yesterday. So good on the ball, can hold it up well, ease past players, and deceptively strong as well. Fourth straight start for him last night is so good to see. Only 23 too, let’s not forget. His ceiling is very high.

Can we all just appreciate how good Ndombele is on the ball. He manages to get out of the tightest situations.

Spurs Web Opinion
Ndombele seems to be getting better and better with more games under his belt. I am hoping that Mourinho is brave enough to start both him and Lo Celso together against Arsenal next week as the Gunners will sit with men behind the ball and defend in a low block. We will have to commit more players forward if we are to break them down.
