Dimitar Berbatov backs Spurs player to fill the void left by Tanguy Ndombele

Tottenham Hotspur will have to manage without the services of club record signing Tanguy Ndombele this afternoon.

The midfielder suffered a thigh injury in training prior to the Newcastle United match and will now miss the North London derby against Arsenal.

Ndombele was also left out the French national squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers and the club will certainly be hoping that he is ready to face Crystal Palace on September 14th.

Former Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has backed Christian Eriksen to step up and fill the void left by the Frenchman.

Eriksen has found himself on the bench for two of Tottenham’s opening three Premier League fixtures so far this season.

However, Spurs fans will be expecting Mauricio Pochettino to pick his best eleven players for the trip to the Emirates and in the opinion of this supporter, that includes Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen both being named in the starting line up.

“It is sad that Ndombele is injured and he is set to miss the match but in Eriksen they have a player that can fill his place,” Berbatov told Betfair.

“If he is in the right state of mind, without asking questions about his future and if he concentrates, with his vision and passing he can, as always, help the team to victory. “
