Dimitar Berbatov involved in spat at Spurs stadium over bread roll

Dimitar Berbatov’s languid style of play divided opinion between many fans.

The Bulgarian was something of an introvert and an enigma on the pitch.

His reputation once again came to the fore yesterday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he was in attendance for the Premier League defeat you Liverpool.

Football journalist Alasdair Gold revealed that the former Spurs striker was involved in a dispute with the catering staff at the stadium’s media cafe prior to kick off.

Berbatov helped himself to a bread roll only for the catering manager to quiz him on the whereabouts of his meal voucher.

Living up to this reputation, the 38-year-old’s colleague reminded the staff member of who Berbatov was only for the former player to stuff the item into his mouth and challenge the employee on what they were going to do about it.

The incident saw the catering manager left furious by his actions only for Berbatov to smile and walk away.

Gold documented the hilarious exchange on his Twitter account.
