Dimitar Berbatov issues warning to Daniel Levy over Harry Kane’s future

Dimitar Berbatov has warned that Harry Kane will be forced to seriously consider his future if Spurs fail to sign any quality players this summer.

The Bulgarian feels that Kane could follow in his footsteps out of North London if the club are not brave in the transfer market and claims that the Spurs striker will likely be in discussions with his agent over his future.

Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is said to be the number one target for the Portuguese manager, according to reports, as Mourinho looks to bolster his the protection of defence by recruiting a holding midfielder.

However, Berbatov insists Spurs must be aiming to sign quality players to push them towards winning trophies, otherwise, they face losing Kane.

“At Spurs, there is a lack of transfer activity and people may say that there has been a lack of quality brought into the club in recent times,” Berbatov told the Daily Mirror.

“That will be in Kane’s mind. People are talking a lot about this and Kane is probably talking about it to his agent as well.

“If you are a player with big ambitions you always have things like this in your mind.”

The Bulgarian admitted he had to leave Spurs to win trophies when he made the move to Manchester United and he feels Kane could be in the same position.

“If you want to win something and time is flying and not waiting for anyone, you know you have limited opportunities to win something in your career,” he added.

“So then it’s down to you to make a decision about what you are going to do about it, if you stay or if you go.

“Trust me, that’s a tough decision and I’m sure that in the case of Harry, who has come through the academy, it will be an even tougher decision.”
