Dimitar Berbatov on who will come out on top between Everton and Spurs

Dimitar Berbatov has shared his prediction ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League fixture against Everton.

Spurs return to Merseyside for the second time in the space of seven days following last weekend’s disappointing defeat to league leaders Liverpool.

While Spurs started the match well at Anfield, they proved to be the masters of their own downfall when Danny Rose and Serge Aurier were guilty for a goal apiece to see Jurgen Klopp’s side win 2-1.

Everton have also experienced a difficult start to the season and find themselves in sixteenth place in the table, just two points behind Tottenham.

Berbatov expects Mauricio Pochettino’s side to encounter a tough fixture at Goodison Park but believes it will be a case of Tottenham’s long-standing wait for an away win to continue.

Spurs have not picked up all three points on the road in a competitive fixture since beating Fulham back in January.  Instead, Berbatov has tipped both sides to share the points.

He told BetFair: “Spurs cannot be happy about being 11th in the table and a win at Everton on Sunday would be very important for them. But Goodison Park is a horrible ground for away teams because the fans are close to the pitch, always in your face and trying to bully you.

Everton are in a mess though, languishing just two points off the relegation zone. Every season is supposed to be the one when they kick on but it never happens. Both teams desperately need a win but I think the points will be shared.”
