Dimitar Berbatov on who will win between Spurs and Leicester City

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has shared his score prediction ahead of the visit of Leicester City.

Tottenham have lost only one of their last 11 home games in the Premier League (W7 D3), after losing three of their first eight such matches under José Mourinho in the competition (W5 L3).

Last season, Leicester suffered a 3-0 loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and in the previous two seasons, they were beaten 5-4 and 3-1 at Wembley.

The Foxes are just a point behind Tottenham in the Premier League table after both sides lost their midweek fixtures against Liverpool and Everton respectively.

Spurs are set to welcome back Gareth Bale after he resumed training following an illness that saw him miss the matches against Crystal Palace and Liverpool, while Erik Lamela is still injured (Spurs official).

Berbatov believes that the fixture represents significant importance for Jose Mourinho’s side following the loss at Anfield which saw them lose top spot in the table.

He told The Metro: “Leicester have had lots of ups and downs so far, you expect them to win a game and then they lose, and when you expect them to lose a game they win. I’m backing Spurs in this one because they need the win, it’s a really important game for them, especially after the Liverpool heartbreak.

“Prediction 2-1.”
