Dimitar Berbatov predicts how Tottenham will fare against Manchester United

Dimitar Berbatov has backed his two former clubs, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, to play out a draw at Old Trafford today, claiming that the two sides are currently evenly matched.

Spurs head into the game with a lot of confidence, having been beaten just once in their 13 competitive matches across all competitions.

Jose Mourinho’s men have certainly found their scoring boots at the start of the campaign but there are still question marks over the side defensively.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have started the campaign sluggishly, with a loss against Crystal Palace in their first outing followed by 3-2 win over Brighton where they rode their luck for large parts of the game.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side will take a little more confidence from the fact that they turned the Seagulls over 3-0 on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, despite both teams making a whole of host of changes for the match.

The clash today is arguably the first big test of the season for both United and Spurs, and Berbatov believes there is little that separates the two sides.

When asked to predict the result of the game, the Bulgarian told The Metro: “I think this will end up a draw. Both teams are up and down, they have very good strengths and very bad weaknesses. I hope it’s not 0-0 and the football is good, but they are evenly matched. 2-2”

Spurs Web Opinion

Based on how both Spurs and Man Utd have defended so far this season, I certainly cannot see a 0-0. I am confident that we could come away from Old Trafford with all three points as we have quite a bit of momentum on the back of the week we have had.
