Director claims £25m ‘would not be enough’ to sign Spurs target late in window

Stuttgart director Sven Mislinta has claimed that the Bundesliga club will not sell rumoured Tottenham target Sasa Kalajdzic for any amount lower than their valuation this summer.

Reports indicate that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to add another forward to the squad this summer as the Portuguese coach plans on employing a formation with two striker’s next season.

While Southampton’s Danny Ings is thought to be Tottenham’s number one target, Kalajdzic is said to be one of the other names on the club’s radar (Eurosport).

The Austrian international scored 16 goals and registered 6 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Sources from Germany claimed last month that the 24-year-old, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2023, is valued at around €30m (£25.7m) by Stuttgart.

However, Mislinta has now asserted that it will take more than that amount to prise Kalajdzic away from the Mercedes-Benz Arena this summer.

When asked what he would do if a top club bid €30m for the striker towards the end of the window, he told Kicker: “Then there would be two no’s.

“Getting a replacement at such a late point in time is very difficult or even impossible. And: 30 million would not be enough.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Going by the profile of players Fabio Paratici seems to be going for, I do believe that Spurs are much more likely to go for a player like Kalajdzic or Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic over someone like Ings.
