Eintracht Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krosche has said that rumoured Tottenham target Even Ndicka could make a U-turn on his future and decide to sign a new contract at the Bundesliga club.

According to recent reports, Spurs are expected to be in the market for a left-sided centre-back this summer even if they sign Clement Lenglet permanently from Barcelona (The Athletic).

Evan Ndicka, whose current contract at Frankfurt runs out this June (Transfermarkt), is thought to be one of the names on the club’s radar, with Frankfurter Rundschau suggesting previously that the North Londoners are eyeing a move for the centre-back.

90 min reported last week that with the 23-year-old available on a free transfer this summer, the race for his signature was heating up, with AS Roma, Manchester City and Liverpool also said to be eyeing a move for the defender.

However, Krosche has now suggested that Ndicka could decide to extend his stay at Deutsche Bank Park beyond this summer.

When asked about the Frenchman’s future, the Eintracht director told Sky Germany: “Evan can basically imagine staying with us longer. Evan knows what he has in us. He feels comfortable with us and has developed well in Frankfurt.”

Tottenham as well as a number of clubs across the continent will be keeping a close eye on Ndicka’s situation over the coming weeks and months.

Many clubs would have likely already contacted the centre-back’s entourage to find out his plans and there will be a major scramble for the 23-year-old’s signature if he decides against signing a new deal.
