Disappointed’ – Spurs player with one PL start sends message to fans

Arnaut Danjuma has posted a heartfelt message thanking Spurs fans for their support after his loan spell at Tottenham came to an end.

The match against Leeds will be remembered as Lucas Moura‘s last outing in a Spurs shirt, with the Brazilian enjoying a fairytale finish to his time at the club with a brilliant solo goal in stoppage time.

The game also marks an end to Danjuma’s loan spell in North London following his switch from Villarreal in January.

The winger has found game time hard to come by, having got just 163 minutes of action in the Premier League over nine appearances (Transfermakt), and he was an unused substitute once again at Elland Road as Spurs ended the campaign with a 4-1 win, consigning Leeds to relegation.

Danjuma has now taken to social media to admit that he has found the last few months to be frustrating but he insisted that he would take the decision to come to N17 again if he could wind back the clock.

The 26-year-old wrote on Twitter: “To Spurs fans, It is very difficult to sum up the season we’ve all had in words. Many highs and lows, yet I tried to give my all, anytime, at any moment for you all.

“An indifferent return to the Premier League for me. I’d be lying if I wasn’t disappointed with how the season ended for the club, the fans and me.

“I have proven and I know I have the ability to influence games and make a big impact, and if I could turn back the clocks and be given a chance to demonstrate that I would without question.

“Putting the frustration aside, I am very conscious of the welcome I have received by first and foremost the fans, whose continous support towards me has truly amazed me. Likewise, the welcoming from the club, players and staff has been a heartwarming pleasure, to say the least.

“What is tomorrow worth, if it is the same as today? It is only through the hardships in life, we will be able to find ease. Thus, this is not a goodbye message. Never. The journey shared will live on in my mind, body and heart forever.

“This is to every fan who chanted my name, for every person who clapped their hands for me, for every kid who ran up to me for an autograph. Thank You.”

Danjuma would have been excused for feeling hard done by due to the lack of game time and merely going through the motions.

Instead, he has given his 100 per cent whenever he has had opportunities and has conducted himself with grace, which he deserves a lot of credit for.
