“Disbelief and anger” – Some Spurs are furious with Sky’s decision

After Brighton overcame Millwall to progress to the semifinals of the FA Cup, it was confirmed that Tottenham’s first game at their new 62,062-capacity stadium will see them host Crystal Palace on the 3rd of April.

As things stand, the game will go ahead as long as there are no problems in the two test events planned for later this month.

The club confirmed that there will be an opening ceremony held at the venue 30 minutes before kick off.

One gripe that Spurs fans have had with the arrangement is that the first game falls during the week instead of a weekend, and thus is not ideal as some season ticket holders won’t be able to make the game.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports have decided not to show the first game on TV, and have instead said that they will be covering the opening ceremony before cutting to the Etihad to broadcast Manchester City playing Cardiff City.

This news certainly didn’t sit well with Spurs fans and left some of them fuming. Here’s how some fans reacted to the news:
