‘Disgusting’ – Graham Roberts fumes at pundit for Harry Kane claim

Graham Roberts has hit out at Jamie Carragher on social media after the former Liverpool defender insisted that Harry Kane is no longer an ‘untouchable’ in the England side.

The Three Lions made a winning start to their European Championship campaign as they overcame Croatia 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday.

The result put Gareth Southgate’s men in a fantastic position to seal qualification into the next round, with arguably their toughest group match now out of the way.

While there were plenty of positives about England’s game, the performance of their captain was not one of those as Kane struggled to get into the match for large parts.

The striker also missed a straight-forward chance at the far post to doubled England’s lead and found himself taken off with a little under ten minutes of normal time left.

Carragher has written in his column for The Telegraph that Southgate made the right decision to take off the Spurs star and should have done so even earlier.

Roberts did not take kindly to Carragher’s assessment and took to social media to call the pundit out.

Here’s how Tottenham reacted to the former Liverpool man’s article:

Spurs Web Opinion

I actually did not think Kane played all that badly on Sunday. The fact that the Croatian centre-backs were preoccupied with him and determined not to allow the 27-year-old any time or space on the ball, actually opened up more space for the likes of Mount, Sterling and Foden. While Kane might not have looked at his sharpest, I do not think it is fair to start questioning his importance to the England side on the back of one match.
