‘Disturbing to watch’ – Some fans react to Spurs 3-2 Vitesse

Antonio Conte experienced an eventful first outing as Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach this evening.

The Italian took his place in the managerial hot seat for the first time since replacing Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this week when he took charge of the North Londoners against Vitesse Arnhem.

After 28 minutes it looked as if it could have been plain sailing for Conte after his team raced to a 3-0 goal lead.

It was Heung-min Son who broke the deadlock and seven minutes later Lucas Moura raced through to slot home to double their lead. An own goal from Jacob Rasmussen added further breathing space, before the away side fought back.

Rasmussen went some way to redeeming himself with a header and Bero added a second for Vitesse five minutes before the break.

Some rash decision making from Cristian Romero proved to be costly after the Italian picked up a costly second booking to reduce his side to ten men for the remaining 31 minutes.

Vitesse lost their one-man advantage when Doekhi was also dismissed for a second booking nine minutes before the end and the match took a further twist when goalkeeper Markus Schubert was adjudged to have handled outside of the penalty area.

Here is how some fans reacted on social media after watching their side win 3-2 in the Europa Conference League tie.
