Djalo declares Tottenham interest

Spurs could be close to signing Tannick Djalo from Sporting Lisbon, according to the striker’s agent.

Djalo has been linked with moves to England and Italy, but looks set to shun overtures from Italy in order to secure a switch to White Hart Lane.

Lionel Da Silva, his agent, has claimed that a deal is likely to be struck soon and that the player is keen on becoming a Spurs player.

“I believe Yannick will not play in Italy,” Da Silva said.

“He is a player who is wanted in England and Tottenham looks like the most likely destination.”

Djalo scored twice for Sporting in the Red Bull tournament against Manchester City, the club he would make his Spurs debut against should the deal happen.

He brings a natural goalscoring edge to him, but his acquisition would most likely spell the end for either Robbie Keane or Roman Pavlyuchenko at White Hart Lane.
