‘DM us’ – Specsavers mock Tottenham man’s comments after 2-2 draw against Liverpool

Specsavers have mocked Harry Kane after the striker insisted that he thought his tackle against Andy Robertson on Sunday was a fair one.

There were quite a few controversial refereeing decisions made in Tottenham’s thrilling 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday, including a red card and two penalty shouts being denied.

After the match, Jurgen Klopp questioned why the VAR asked the on-field referee Paul Tierney to rewatch Robertson’s tackle on Emerson, which led to a red card for the Scot, but not Kane’s tackle on the Liverpool left-back in the first half.

Kane was asked about his challenge on Robertson after the game and the Tottenham striker insisted that he thought he got the ball.

The 28-year-old even added that the Reds full-back himself told him that it was a fair tackle.

Specsavers have now taken to social media mock Kane’s eyesight after the Spurs striker’s comments regarding his tackle.

Here’s what the company tweeted in response to the England captain’s interview with Sky Sports:

Spurs Web Opinion

If Kane does watch the tackle back, I am sure he will agree that it was dangerous and he was lucky to escape with a yellow. However, I do not think the Tottenham striker aimed to leave one on Robertson. I thought he simply got carried away while harrying after the ball.
