After months of heavy speculation, Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the capture of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton yesterday evening.
The 25-year-old may not be a name that gets fans off their seat but he will certainly add some solidity to the Spurs midfield.
One other plus point with the Denmark international is that he has excellent fitness record, having hardly missed any games over the last few years due to injuries (transfermarkt.com).
That might be quite crucial considering the injury problems that some of Tottenham’s stars have had over the last few years, none worse than the injury crisis that hit ahead of the lockdown, which saw the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn sidelined.
However, some Spurs fans have suggested that it is inevitable that Hojbjerg will now fall victim to an injury, having joined the Lilywhites.
Here’s how they reacted to hearing about the midfielder’s fitness record.

So Hojbjerg hasn’t had an injury in over 5 years…. That’s the kind of player we need in our squad…. So what we saying? First injury will be?

Has Hojbjerg survived his medical with the @SpursOfficial quacks? Hoping he avoids the usual 'previously healthy player suddenly dogged by injury' start to @SpursOfficial career.

It’s so guaranteed that hojbjerg is going to pick up an injury as soon as he arrives and struggle to gain fitness until December ?

Spurs Web Opinion
Hojbjerg’s fitness record suggests that he is the type of player who can be counted on to play every three days. That might turn out to be crucial given that Jose Mourinho is likely to take the cup competitions seriously.
Injuries are often difficult to predict as the likes of Sandro, Lamela and Wanyama, did not really have a bad injury record before coming to the club. Let’s hope Hojbjerg continues to show excellent fitness levels for us.
