Does Pochettino’s future hinge on Champions League final outcome?

Following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri, Italian giants Juventus are in the market for a new manager. Reports have suggested that Maurizio Sarri has agreed terms with Juventus and will be unveiled as their new manager in the coming weeks, following the Europa League final between Chelsea and Arsenal (CalcioMercato).

There are suggestions, however, that Juventus will only make their move for Sarri after the Champions League final on June 1st.

With CalcioMercato claiming that Mauricio Pochettino is uncertain about his future at Spurs and Juventus keen to appoint a manager of the highest calibre, it is unsurprising to see these links emerging.

When speaking to the Italian news outlet regarding his future Pochettino said: “I will reply to questions about my future after the final”.

He added: “For now, I am only focused on the final”.

The Italian news source has also been quick to suggest that a Tottenham victory in the Champions League final would only increase the Old Lady’s pursuit of the Argentine.

Spurs Web Opinion

As Pochettino’s comments suggest, his mind is clearly sharply fixed on winning the Champions League with Spurs.

While there’s no doubt that Juventus would be interested in securing the services of Pochettino, it would be a huge surprise for him to leave the club if Spurs were to beat Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Such a historic feat would not only be momentous for the club but for Pochettino personally as it would be his first trophy as Spurs manager – a triumph that the Argentine hopes would help to propel the club to the next level.
