‘Doesn’t matter which manager’ – Hugo Lloris makes claim about Tottenham duo

Hugo Lloris has claimed that Harry Kane and Son Heung-min’s special relationship will prove to be an asset for Tottenham irrespective of their tactical set-up under various managers.

Kane and Son combined lethally against West Ham on Sunday, with the England captain setting up both of the South Korean’s goals in the 3-1 win.

The pair also played a crucial part in Tottenham’s opener, with Kane low-cross trying to pick out Son in the box being turned into his net by Hammers defender Kurt Zouma.

Son’s two goals on Sunday meant that the pair had extended their record-breaking partnership to 39 goals in the Premier League (Sky Sports).

Lloris has seen the evolution of both players first hand and put the duo’s success down to the understanding they have developed over the years.

The Tottenham captain also admitted that Kane and Son set the standards for their teammates to follow.

The Frenchman told Premier League Productions (20/03/22 – from 18:30 onwards) following Tottenham’s 3-1 win: “They (Kane and Son) have a great connection.

“It has been a few years now since they have been working together. You can see the results. It doesn’t matter which manager is coming, this relationship will never change.

“They are used to working together and playing for each other. You see that one can assist and the other can score. And the opposite.

“They all play at such a level that we all need to follow the way.”

If Kane stays at Spurs for another couple of years, I can see him and Son setting a record for goal combinations that will not be beaten for a long time. It is a shame that they do not have trophies to show for their achievements but let’s hope Conte is the man to put that right.
