Dominic Solanke has revealed the current sentiment among the Tottenham squad as the team hovers just a point above the drop zone.
Spurs needed a performance and a positive result against Crystal Palace on Thursday after seeing both of their Premier League relegation rivals pick up points on Wednesday.
However, Tottenham fans saw the same script they have all season at home, with a 10-man Lilywhites side failing to avoid another bruising 3-1 defeat.
The result means that the North Londoners are now on the brink of a massive disaster, and that has not been lost on the squad.

Dominic Solanke admits Tottenham players cannot afford any more excuses
Solanke, who opened the scoring on Thursday night before Micky van de Ven’s sending off turned the tide, admitted that the players had a ‘big conversation’ after the final whistle against the Eagles.
He shared that the squad is conscious of the fact that Tottenham are not used to being in this position and confessed that it is time for the players to stand up rather than make excuses.
Speaking after Spurs’ 3-1 loss to Palace, Solanke told TNT Sports: “We’ve just had a big conversation. We know the position we are in is definitely not where we want to be so we need to figure out how we are going to get out of it as soon as possible.
“We know there’s been difficulties, but we’re not in a position to make any excuses anymore. We need to do the job on the pitch. It is easy to say we want to be better, but we want to be better on the pitch.
“We need to fight and realise the position we are in. We know the club is not used to being in this position, so we need to understand it and understand it’s not going to be easy, and we need to fight every single game, every single minute, to make sure we improve.”
Can Spurs turn the tide in the final nine league games?
Tudor has described every league game Tottenham have left as a ‘final’, and that is certainly how the players should be approaching the fixtures, given the club’s current predicament.
The worry for Spurs is that they are the most out-of-form team among the three sides fighting to avoid finishing 18th, and it is not clear where the Lilywhites’ next win is going to come from.
The hope for Tottenham fans would be that the team will improve once some key players get back fit. They potentially need another three wins to secure their Premier League status, and it appears likely to go right down to the wire.
