‘Done a great job’ – Sir Alex lavishes praise on rumoured Spurs managerial target

Sir Alex Ferguson has claimed that he sees plenty of promise in Scott Parker, amid reports linking the Fulham boss with the Tottenham hot seat.

Despite the fact that Fulham received a lot of plaudits for some of their football this season, Parker was unable to keep them in the top flight.

The 40-year-old, who spent two seasons as a player at Tottenham and began his coaching career at the North London club as Under-18 Development Coach, is rumoured to be one of the names on Daniel Levy’s radar.

Parker, however, is by no means one of the leading contenders for the role, with Football.London’s Alasdair Gold explaining that while the Cottagers boss has admirers at Spurs, the club’s hierarchy view him as someone for the future.

Parker himself reiterated his commitment to helping Fulham win promotion back into the Premier League when asked about the speculation linking him with the Tottenham job.

However, the greatest manager in Premier League history certainly seems to think that the former Tottenham midfielder has a bright future in management.

Sir Alex told LADbible about Parker: “I think the boy Parker at Fulham has done a great job.

“I’ve watched them a lot and they keep playing their football. They don’t change.

“They stick with the beliefs of their manager and I think that’s a great indication of how good he is.”
