Tottenham overcame Manchester City 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter final held at the new stadium.
Mauricio Pochettino named an attacking lineup for the game and the Spurs players pressed the visitors high up the pitch throughout the ninety minutes.
The intensity Tottenham showed in their pressing meant that City could never get into their stride.
Despite the home side arguably looking more threatening than their visitors, Tottenham’s only goal of the game came against the run of play, just at a time when City were having a dominant spell.
The stadium was absolutely rocking throughout the ninety minutes as the 60,000-odd Spurs fans in attendance created a scintillating atmosphere.
The only negative from the game for Tottenham was an injury sustained by Harry Kane early in the second half.
The striker went in for a challenge against Fabian Delph and seemed to roll his left ankle during the contact. It was an ominous sign indeed for Spurs fans as the England captain just came back from an ankle injury last month.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to Kane’s injury:
Kane done for the season. Fucks sake.

Harry Kane straight down the tunnel. Doesn’t look good #UCL

Already seeing tweets suggesting Tottenham Hotspur’s season is over if Harry Kane is injured for the rest of the campaign.
A timely reminder, Spurs won every single one of their matches without Kane in the team (8 in a row) when he was previously absent.

God gave Harry Kane ankles made of papier-mâché to remind us that he’s human.
