Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter after reports that the club had opened discussions with Lyon over a possible deal for Tanguy Ndombele had begun.
The Guardian report that the French international is high on Tottenham’s summer shopping list but both clubs are currently around €25million apart with their valuation.
Lyon are holding out for €75million (£66.6m) for the 22-year-old with Daniel Levy valuing him at around the €50million mark.
Ndombele is regarded as one of the brightest midfield talents in European football and has also attracted interest from Juventus Real Madrid and Manchester City.
With Levy coming up a tough negotiator in Lyon’s Jean-Michel Aulas a deal for the player could become a drawn-out process unless a big spending European giant come in and meet the asking price.
The news has caused some fans to express their concern and frustration over another potential protracted transfer deal which notoriously either sees Spurs miss out on a target completely, or sign the player in the dying moments of the transfer window.

Just pay the damn fee, he's 22. Could give us six years and then sell him at 28 and get your money back.

Spurs will hold their ground and miss out on another potential signing. The signs are ominous once again this season ?

I don’t believe anything that is written in the paper but this guy could be the difference for us.. if we sign him and a full back I’d be happy…. (and a replacement for Eriksen if we need too)

@SpursOfficial Please read comments and feed this back to the negotiation team.
Summaries of comments: Stop being so damn tight with money, It's been 2 windows without any signings…If we do not change the way we operate we will be left behind and lose critical personnel.— Aaronana (@AaronAndNana) June 12, 2019
