‘Don’t see any problem’ – Conte reveals why he isn’t worried about Heung-min Son

Antonio Conte sees no reason to worry about Heung-min Son’s start to the season, despite the Spurs forward failing to find the back of the net in three consecutive games.

We have seen somewhat of a reversal between the fortunes of Son and Harry Kane in front of goal compared to last season, with the England captain currently leading the charge in the early games.

Kane flicked home a 96th-minute equaliser from a corner against Chelsea before nodding into an empty net for a 1-0 winner against Wolves last weekend.

Meanwhile, Son has struggled for both form and goals in a Lilywhite shirt so far, putting in sub-par displays against Southampton, Chelsea and Wolves, while also missing numerous golden chances to open his account for the year.

Despite that, Conte has assured people that there are no issues with Son’s performances, attitude, or commitment, reminding fans that he remains an important player.

Conte said (Football London): “You know very well that we are talking about a really important player for me and for the club. For sure I think Sonny in the last three games he had chances to score but there is moment but lucky or unlucky.

“No problem with Sonny’s performance, his attitude and commitment is always very high. Happy about his performance and I don’t see any problem with him.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

Son has always been a player who has amazing patches of form and then quiet periods. However, as the years go on, the quiet periods seem to be more few and far between, and I’m sure that will be the case again this season once he’s off the mark.
