Arsenal legend Perry Groves believes that Richarlison is a much better player than he is currently showing, and backed Ange Postecoglou to get the best out of the Brazilian over the coming months.
After a difficult first season at Tottenham, where he was played out of position and picked up several injuries, Richarlison would have been hoping to showcase his best in a Spurs shirt this season.
However, the campaign has not started the way the 26-year-old would have wanted, with the pressure continuing to mount on him with each Premier League game that he goes without finding the back of the net.
Richarlison will hit form soon, says Perry Groves
With Son Heung-min netting a hat-trick in the number nine role in Tottenham’s 5-2 win over Burnley, Richarlison now potentially faces an extended spell on the bench.
In an interview with Globo Esporte earlier this week, the former Everton man opened up on his struggles, admitting that he has also gone through a difficult time in his personal life recently.
He also revealed that he will be seeking ‘psychological help’ and reiterated his determination to turn things around at Tottenham, and Groves believes that the striker will do just that.
The pundit told talkSPORT (10/09/23) about Richarlison: “I think there is a player in there. I do. Ange will drag it out of him, don’t worry.”

We have seen time and again that players can look completely different depending on whether they are high in confidence or lacking in it, with the likes of Moussa Sissoko and more recently, Emerson Royal, being prime examples.
So, it would be unfair to write off Richarlison due to his current struggles as there is no doubt that he is capable of playing a lot better.
