Tottenham midfielder Giovani Dos Santos has as possible target for Deportivo de La Coruna.

The Spanish outfit have earmarked the Mexican midfielder as a possible replacement for Angel Lafita, who is wanted by Real Zaragoza.

Dos Santos recently caught the eye on international duty at the Gold Cup, where he helped Mexico lift the tropy and was named as Player of the Tournament.

“I know Giovani very well,” Depor boss Miguel Angel Lotina was quoted as saying by AS.

“Last year we spoke to him, but then Tottenham came in.

“As for Lafita, well, there is nothing. But if he goes then we will start with plan B. But [Dos Santos] is an interesting player, but he is not the only one.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I cant think why Harry wont give him a chance on the left. If your named player of the tournament it’s got to mean you have some sort of ability. Its obvious we’re shirt on the left, Modric needs to start playing with Wilson or Hudd in the mid and we raelly should give this boy another chance. He was injured for a lot of last season and was unfairly treated.

  2. Does any one have a clue why Redknapp seems so stubbornly determined to not give Giovanni a go? He is clearly a brilliant prospect. Ok the CON cup is a bit lame – some awful teams in it – but as player of the tournament and just 20, he has to be worthy of a handful of consequetive games, no?
If we sell him we wont make any money even as Barca will get it all – unless we sell him for over 10M…
Then again – if we keep him he’ll probably go crap (Pekhart, Blondel, Postiga, Ziegler…. we should make a list!)

  3. After watching that display against Celtic, harry would be nuts to sell him, Jamie please have a word with your dad, we have to keep this player

  4. it would be pretty amazing to get robben.but no one has heard of negrado,(hes an attacker by the way)we get him for 15 mill, and he turns around tottenham
