Giovani Dos Santos is determined to get his Spurs career going once he recovers from his current ankle injury.
Dos Santos has been plagued with injury problems since joining Spurs from Barcelona in the summer of 2008.
He struggled to make much impact last season and spent the end of it on loan at Ipswich Town in the Championship.
However, Gio has looked promising in his outings this season, both domestically and on the international scene. The injury picked up against Preston in the Carling Cup set his progress back, but he has set his sights on a regular place in Redknapp’s squad once he recovers.
“I had a scan and am hoping I can get back in a couple of weeks.
“It is very frustrating that I got a start, but had to come off after just a couple of minutes. I really want to show what I am capable of doing.
“I’m not saying I should be chosen ahead of Defoe, Crouch or Keane. But I’ve been in good form, doing well at training and waiting to take any opportunity.
“Harry Redknapp is a great manager and I’m hoping he will give me some more minutes on the pitch when I’m fit. this season I’m stronger mentally and physically.”

bernard, you are an arse, gio is raw talent !
Gio is pure class. He has never gotten a run out with the first team. Put him on in the 75th and he could change a game. Is it any wonder that Ipswich came on so strong late last year, and are crap this year? Same manager, same league, same squad but for one. Gio!
Really hope he get’s a go. Looks a prodiious talent, and looked very bright against Preston.
