Stop with the threats GDS and prove your worth

Giovani dos Santos has issued an ultimatum to Tottenham by claiming that he will leave the club on a free transfer in six months if he does not get regular football.

The Mexican is in the final year of his contract at White Hart Lane. How he can make such claims is absolutely absurd, he has the opportunity to impress a new manager in the form of Andre Villas-Boas to prove he can finally cut it at Spurs. The ball is in his court.

AVB seems to be willing to give every player the chance to put their hand up and provide their worth. Dos Santos needs to knuckle down and start talking with his feet rather than threats of leaving on a free.

It’s over to you GDS.

“I’m either leaving the club this summer, or I’ll sign for another club for free in six months time,” Dos Santos told Medio Tiempo.

“I am very calm [about my future]. I have a contract with Tottenham and I don’t know what will happen. I might leave the club. I’m at a good team, but I want to play. However, it’s not my decision as to whether Tottenham sell me or hold on to me.”

  1. I agree that Gio should keep his mouth shut, get on with it and see what happens but I'm always suspicious of any quote coming from a Spanish paper. Their articles are questionable to say the very least.

  2. Best if he just leaves, 4yrs of doing nothing, know one wanted him after his loan spells, all these good games for mexico, i thought they would be knocking down the doors to sign him, every time he has the chance to leave, some excuse comes up. Just go and do me a big favour, your crap. And it's not all down to Harry, giving him a chance, his had them, never performed in any great shape.

  3. Hahahaha how funny it is…when a player has a year left and can go for free out comes the spud ….oh u should knuckle down . Hahahagive them F all GDS go for free mate make the spud loose some cash .

  4. I think you need to take into account that things get lost in translation. Maybe he's not being quite as mercenary as he's being made out. I'm personally delighted that he wants to play games for us, and fully understand if he doesn't get games he wants to move on. If AVB can offer him a role as right wing/forward and he can recreate his Mexico form we've potentially got a new player for nothing.
    Tom, constructive comments.

  6. Well, the Spurs have handled this and him terribly, leaving them no choice but to sell now, otherwise he leaves for free – there is no way he is going to extend his contract unless something crazy happens in the first half of this season.
Its a shame, cause the kid has talent yet the entire squad is never rotated or used properly.

  7. you cant be personally delighted bec ause if you are fuckin writing an opinion its obvious its personal you oaf!!!!ty
