Dragusin’s agent reveals how much money he made from the Tottenham transfer

Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florian Manea, has admitted that he pocketed €4m (£3.4m) from his client’s move from Genoa to Tottenham Hotspur.

While most football agents tend to stay quiet and do their work behind the scenes, Manea evidently loves the limelight, regularly giving interviews to the press.

While Spurs fans are understandably excited to have Dragusin on board, it is fair to say that some of them are already growing tired of Manea’s constant statements to the media.

The 21-year-old’s representative was speaking to the Italian press regularly over the last month about Tottenham’s interest and his client’s future, and he has continued being quite vocal since the centre-back completed a switch to the Premier League side.

A couple of weeks ago, he irked Spurs and their supporters by stating that he sees Dragusin playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona in three or four years (Digisport).

Dragusin’s agent became a millionaire from Tottenham transfer

Manea has now been speaking to the Romanian media about the fee that he stands to earn from the centre-back’s switch from Genoa to London.

He told PlayTech (as translated by Sport Witness): “I have an agreement with (Dragușin) from the beginning. I put everything on the table and say how much money I take. He gets my commission on email.

“I made a lot of money on this transfer, I think it was the biggest in Romanian football. Yes! Around €4m. My share, my money. That’s besides my partners. I took money from Tottenham and Genoa.

“I saw a broadcast where someone said I get €4m and the player only gets €3m. I get €4m in six years. Look how much money the player gets in six years. I don’t take a cent of the player’s salary.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have not come across someone who loves the sound of his own voice as much as Manea does.

He is ridiculously easily accessible to the media, which is not good news for Tottenham as he will likely reveal details that the club would prefer to keep indoors.

Spurs will be hoping that Dragusin signs with a different representative within the next six months or so.
