Dutch coach insists 24-year-old is ready to join a club like Spurs or Arsenal

Former Ajax and PSV Eindhoven boss Aad de Mos has claimed that Ibrahim Sangare is ready to move to a club like Tottenham Hotspur.

Sangare has gone from strength to strength since leaving Toulouse to join PSV, with the 24-year-old emerging as one of the best midfield enforcers in the Eredivisie.

Tottenham were reportedly scouting the midfielder extensively during his time in Ligue 1 and were credited with an interest in the midfielder before he moved to the Netherlands (GFFN).

It emerged recently that Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard was in the stands to watch Sangare in action during PSV’s UEFA Conference League quarter-final clash with Leicester City (Voetbal International).

Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the Ivory Coast international ahead of the summer transfer window (Daily Mail).

However, Aad de Mos has now claimed that Sangare can afford to aim higher than the aforementioned clubs, insisting the midfielder is ready to join a club like Spurs or Arenal.

He said on the Twee Viertje podcast (19/04/22): “He (Sangare) is the key to this PSV side. He’d fit in at the top five clubs of the Premier League. That’s how good he is.

“Is he ready for a mid-table Premier League club? Well, not mid-table. He’s ready for the top. If I compare him with players I see at Arsenal, or the midfielders at Tottenham, he can come.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Thriving in the Eredivisie and Ligue 1 is no guarantee of being successful in England. I would personally take someone with Premier League experience like Yves Bissouma, Ruben Neves or Youri Tielemans over Sangare if we are looking for a relatively low-cost central midfield option to replace Harry Winks.
