Early transfer window closure means these deals are off

It has been a relatively quiet transfer deadline day for Tottenham, as many expected it to be.

Spurs haven’t signed any new players all season, and it never looked set to change as Jim White took his seat and donned his yellow tie today.

Tottenham become the first Premier League club in history not to sign a new player across a whole season, not exactly a record anyone will cherish.

The only transfer dealings there have been for Spurs are the outgoings of Mousa Dembele to China, and Nkoudou on loan to Monaco.

However, the earlier closure of the German transfer window may put a stop to any other outgoings from Spurs today.

Vincent Janssen had been linked with a move to Schalke (Daily Mail), and Josh Onomah on loan to either Hoffenheim or Monchengladbach (SportsMole).

However, neither of these moves will go ahead now as the window is firmly shut until the summer.
