Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have reached a full agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of right-back Emerson Royal.
Reports first emerged a couple of days ago that Spurs had enquired about Emerson while holding talks with Barca regarding Illiax Moriba.
Sources from Spain claimed this morning that Tottenham’s opening offer for the Brazilian had been turned down but the North Londoners were expected to return with a second offer.
That is exactly how things seem to have transpired over the last few hours, with multiple publications revealing that the negotiations between Spurs and Barcelona for the 22-year-old were progressing quickly.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the two clubs have agreed on a fee of €30m (£25.7m) for the former Real Betis star.
He also added that Emerson is ready to join Tottenham and is currently holding talks on personal terms with the club.

The speed in which this deal has seemingly moved has given me hope that Paratici could still pull a surprise or two out of the hat on transfer deadline day.
The fact that Paratici has pushed ahead with Emerson’s signing could be a sign that he is confident that at least one of Aurier or Doherty would depart tomorrow.
