Why Adebayor could be the difference for Spurs

Trying to obtain a top 4 finish without a main striker is a near-impossible job. Defoe is injured, and Dempsey has unfortunately proved that the lone striker role is not for him; it seems we are left with only one option: Emmanuel Adebayor. Whilst he seemed so lazy, disinterested and inactive when with Spurs earlier in the season, he could well be the difference between 4th and 6th for Spurs.

He has got goals in him

Whilst this season he has only contributed 2 league goals to the cause, we know from his loan spell last season that he can score goals on a regular basis, bagging 17 in the season 2011/12. We have been lacking goals this season – think how many games we have scored just 1 goal – and he has proved time and time again that he could be the scorer of our dearly-needed goals. Strikers operate on confidence; all Adebayor needs is to kickstart his goals as we enter the latter stages of this season and he could still rack up double figures.

We’ve got the midfield

There aren’t many better creative midfields in the world than the players at Spurs. Our first team includes the likes of Bale, Dembele, Holtby and Lennon and these are the type of players that strikers dream of playing with. These players can create chance after chance after chance and we know Adebayor has the ability to finish them; this could well be a lethal combination, if the stated players hit form.

He’s got a point to prove

As mentioned earlier, Adebayor’s pre-ACON form was truly dismal. He looked disinterested and has only scored once since November. But this information alone could provide the push that Ade needs to get interested, and get scoring. He has found his chances limited at Spurs this season, with AVB preferring to put JD up front as the lone striker – but now is Ade’s chance. Defoe is injured and Ade is the only true striker available – he must know that if he plays well now he could be a regular fixture in the team until the end of the season.

Adebayor, Adebayoooooor, Please score!
