Eric Dier has admitted that he did not want the 2019/20 season to end when it did as the team were making some real strides on the pitch.
Tottenham were one of the most consistent teams in the league following the restart, losing just one of their final nine matches of the season.
In fact, the Lilywhites managed to win four of their final six matches to sneak above Wolves into sixth place and book their spot in next season’s Europa League.
Dier added that he hopes the Lilywhites can carry on from where they left off last season and admitted his excitement at having a full pre-season with Jose Mourinho.
He also revealed that the players are desperate to have fans back at the stadium.
Listen to what the 26-year-old said on talkSPORT’s Hawksbee AND Jacobs:

There were certainly signs after the restart that the team was becoming adapted to Mourinho’s demands. Our defensive record after the restart speaks for itself while we also looked much more threatening during transitions. I am confident that Jose will make us extremely difficult to beat next season but we are still some way away from challenging Liverpool or Man City.
